TVGC takes pride in our mission which we have upheld for over 90 years:
- To stimulate an interest in gardening
- To preserve our native beauty, both horticultural and scenic
- To prevent these natural treasures from being destroyed or exploited.
What Do We Do at TVGC?
- serve as volunteer judges in the PHS Garden and Greening Contest
- make and deliver dozens of fresh holiday arrangements to the Coatesville Veterans’ Hospital
- plan and maintain public garden areas at Historic Yellow Springs
- learn various garden-related topics, such as terrarium-building, growing dahlias, growing roses, and making DIY hypertufa containers, through monthly programs
- learn to think like a flower show judge
- conduct outreach to local community on gardening
- learn what others are planting in their gardens
- visit local and regional gardens and greenhouses
- exchange seeds, bulbs, seedlings and saplings
- make new gardening friends
